Itinerary

June 10Flight to Turku. Arrival 15.20 p.m.
Evening / night, visit to forests S.E. of Jyväskylä (22.00 - 01.00)
June 11Drive to Tuuli Suo (a swamp north of Kestilä), walk through this swamp (06.00 - 08.00 a.m.).
Further drive to Oulu, visit to Liminganlathi (10.00 - 11.30 a.m.) and forests between Temmes and Koskela (21.00 - 23.30 p.m.)
June 12Oulu oilport (01.00 - 2.30), visit of Kemi, Ajos peninsular (06.00 - 08.30 a.m.), further drive north via Rovaniemi, Ivola, Inari to Kevo (Turku university field station, arr. 23.00 p.m.).
On the way - visits to forests along side roads near Petkula and 50.5 km. S. of Ivola (near Tankapirtti).
June 13Visit to Skalluvaara (04.00 - 07.00 a.m.), Utsjoki (Mount Ailigas, 07.40 - 08.45 a.m.), further drive to Varangerfjord (Norway), birding east till Ekkeroye bird sanctuary (11.00 - 16.30 p.m.). Return to Kevo.
June 14Kevo (04.30 a.m.) - Inar - Ivalo. Further South to Sodänkylä with visit of Uvupää hill (12.00 -14.00p.m.), arrival at Kuusamo 21.30 p.m. (Viipus camping). Local birding till 01.00 a.m.
June 15Birding in Kuusamo / Ruka area, visits to Valtavaara (06.00 - 10.30 a.m.), and to Lake Toranki area (11.00 - 12.30).
June 16Birding in Kuusamo area and Oulanka National Park, with visits to Vasaraperä (00.00 - 02.00 a.m.), Lake Toranki with bird tower (04.30 - 06.30 a.m.), Viipus campsite near Ruka (07.00 - 08.00 a.m.), Oulanka N.P. (08.30 - 13.30), and again Viipus campsite (14.00 - 14.30). Further drive South, via Kajaani, Otanmäki, Iisälmi, to Tiitilänkylä (arrival 23.00 p.m.)
June 17Visit to lake near Tiitilänkylä (East of Vesamäki, 08.30 - 09.30 a.m.), further drive, via Tampere to Turku. Departure at airport 16.30 p.m.
